Oakland Athletics General Manager Is Selling His Home in Danville

Billy Beane is selling his five bedroom, five bathroom home in Danville. Billy and his wife Tara purchased the home for $1.735 million in 2002 and the home was listed for sale at $1.895 million on June 19th.  The home went “pending” on June 22nd.  Billy Beane is the General Manager of the Oakland Athletics who was catapulted into the public eye by the book and movie “Moneyball”, by Robert Lewis, and by his refusal of a $13 million contract offered by the Boston Red Sox. Had he accepted Boston’s  offer he would have become the most highly paid general manager in sports history. Billy became a national sports story in 2002 when the Athletics set a major league record for 20 consecutive victories.

It has not been reported what led to Mr. Beane’s decision to put the estate up for sale. The home is located in the beautiful Magee Ranch community.   It has 4,836 square feet of living space and is decked out with cherry wood flooring, crown molding, a sparkling pool and an elevated spa.
